Dew Tour Breckenridge
It is hard to describe the insanity that went down at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge. Both Halfpipe and Slopestyle finals were out of this world. Kevin Rolland stomped a near perfect run in pipe, throwing back-to-back-to-back doubles, which earned him a 94.50. Tom Wallisch was unbeatable on the slope course. His unmatched style mixed with the technicality of his jumps and rails got him a 92.75. Another true stunner of the Dew Tour was Gus Kenworhy. Gus was the only competitor to make finals in two events and manager to take get 4th in both.
On the Empire Attire front, we had a very big weekend. It seemed like everyone on the hill was wearing our gloves. On Friday, we teamed up with Rockwell watches to do a glove swap. People gave us their old gloves for a brand new set of Empire Attire gloves or mittens. The old gloves went to Goodwill; the new ones were to be worn on the slopes. All our product was gone within minutes. It was awesome to see how excited kids got over our new stuff.
Peter Olenick was on his feet competing in halfpipe. He was able to put down his first full run since his injury and made it into semi-finals. Recent recruit, Alexis Godbout, tore up the finals in slopestyle. Alexis was out for the last nine months due to a knee injury. However, he found himself in 3rd place with an 87.00. Not a bad come back. Simon had suffered a serious infection in his hand last week, facing two emergency surgeries. No one expected him to ski in the competition, but he proved to the world how tough he really is. Simon left his poles behind and took to the skies. Unfortunately he was unable to put down a solid run. However, we are all amazed by his speedy recovery.
We also found some new pros rocking our gear. Dane Tudor and Andreas Håtveit were wearing our gloves while competing in slopestyle. Sean Jordon has also become kitted out with poles and gloves. We have been getting tons of support from some of the best skiers in the business and could not be happier. We want thank everyone for showing us so much love this weekend. Keep shredding!
