Luke Alexander Van Valin: Man Behind the Voice

When we tune into the Dew Tour or crank up the volume during X-Games, we are narrated through each event by a familiar voice. This is the voice of Luke Alexander Van Valin. Luke is a legend within the ski industry and has made his mark as a highly respected personality. This Idaho boy began his career as a professional skier and an infamous coach at Whistler’s Camp of Champions. Not long after, Luke’s golden vocal cords took over as his raison d’être.
Apart from his voice, he also has an unbeatable vocabulary and delivers impeccable rants. As a result of his success as an announcer in skiing, he has branched out into other roles and sports. Luke spends a lot of his time in the summer announcing professional volleyball. This has helped volleyball to become a great hobby in the ski industry during the offseason. He is often known in volleyball for his amazing outfits as well as his chest hair, which he shaves into objects such as arrows or UFOs.
Luke has also been featured in commercials, hosted major fundraisers and events, and, has been leading weddings for close friends. In fact, Luke took the time to get ordained online in order to perform proper wedding ceremonies. As a result, he is undoubtedly the only man I know who has led a wedding, then still been able to execute a flawless speech hours into the after party. In fact, Luke had the great pleasure of marrying Empire’s own Sarah Burke to her husband, Rory Bushfield. Luke is an amazing personality and great friend to everyone in the industry.
We at Empire Attire love Luke so much that we have decided to announce, here and now, that we would like to formally add Luke as our very first sponsored personality. Don’t get us wrong here, Henrik Harlaut, Jossi Wells and the rest of the team have personalities as well, but, unlike our great athletes, Luke is first and foremost a remarkable personality, stripped down to his bare chest and microphone. We plan to present Luke with a formal sponsorship offer within the next few weeks and, should he accept, we will all be able to rest assured knowing that our favorite voice in action sports will have the warmest and hippest hands wherever he goes.
