Simon Dumont
Simon is the most threatening skier the industry has ever seen. He hates to lose and will do anything he can to keep his spot on top of the podium. The man is absolutely fearless when it comes to skiing. That is why Simon holds the world record for “Highest air in a Quarterpipe” at 35 ft. It also explains why he dismantled a perfect superpipe into a series of cubes, requiring him to transfer every hit. His crazy stunts are only one reason that Simon is the best in the business. He was born to be an athlete and is freakishly good at any sport he picks up. One of the great Simon legends is when he won halfpipe at the Honda Ski Tour in Lake Tahoe, then flew to Park City the very next morning without sleep and won the World Superpipe Championships, and finished off with a round of 9 golf shooting three over par.
Simon saw his first X Games at the incredibly young age of 14. By 17 he had taken his first X Games gold in Superpipe and would go on to win the title again following year. Ever since, he has been dominating in halfpipe competitions, consistently placing in the top three. Although Simon is primarily known as a pipe skier, he is no stranger to huge jumps and big parks. Simon won X Games Big Air in 2009. He also hosts his own slopestyle competition, the Dumont Cup, which he competes in every March. In addition, he has filmed for the biggest companies in skiing and even created his own movie, Transitions, with his filmer and best friend, Riley Poor.
Recently, Simon has had to split his priorities in two: skiing and running a company. Luckily, the two go hand in hand. Simon puts his pure passion for skiing into Empire and has been fully committed to creating the best product possible. He has been more involved than ever to ensure that the Empire’s gloves and gear are the best in the world. Simon believes in Empire and In Simon We Trust.
